An AM Law Firm is seeking an AI Solutions Manager that will coordinate technology initiatives that introduce, integrate, and maintain AI tools across the firm. This manager-level role reports to the Director of Knowledge Management and oversees both project-based work and the ongoing lifecycle of AI-enabled solutions in a legal environment. The role partners closely with administrative departments, practice groups, Knowledge Management, and IT to ensure AI tools are adopted effectively and deliver measurable business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of AI-related technology projects, from use case identification, planning, and pilot testing through firmwide rollout, training, and ongoing optimization.
- Lead the AI team, overseeing day-to-day execution, resource allocation, and prioritization of AI initiatives.
- Collaborate with Knowledge Management and IT to evaluate, implement, and integrate AI tools into existing systems and workflows.
- Review, recommend, and help configure AI solutions to enhance legal and administrative processes.
- Define project scope, timelines, deliverables, and success metrics; track progress against milestones and provide clear, consistent status updates to stakeholders.
- Serve as a bridge between technical teams and legal professionals by translating business needs into clear technology requirements and user stories.
- Develop and maintain documentation, usage guidelines, and best practices for AI tools, including governance, risk management, security, and ethical use considerations.
- Monitor performance, user adoption, and satisfaction for deployed AI solutions; coordinate enhancements, updates, and issue resolution with internal teams and vendors.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of AI and automation opportunities by partnering with practice groups and administrative departments to identify high-impact use cases.
- Stay current on AI trends, legal industry developments, and regulatory changes, providing recommendations that support responsible innovation and long-term AI strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 3-5 years of experience managing technology or AI-related projects, preferably within a professional services or legal environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading or supervising a small technical or innovation-focused team, including workload planning and prioritization.
- Strong working knowledge of commercially available AI tools and platforms used in legal or business workflows.
- Demonstrated curiosity and commitment to self-directed learning, including proactively exploring new AI tools, features, and use cases and sharing insights with colleagues.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple concurrent projects with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and change management skills, with the ability to drive adoption in a law firm or similar environment.
- Familiarity with data privacy, security, confidentiality, and ethical AI considerations in the legal sector is preferred.
